Original Contemporary And Modern Art

Originally from New York City, Caracciolo has resided in Montrel for the past 12 years where he has an extensive history of exhibits. He works in oil paint and creates a language through physical applications of his medium that incorporate layering of color and drawing.  No surface is off limits, but the artist primarily works on canvas and wood. Frank is interested in examining process and surface compositions often mimicking the action painters of the abstract expressionist movement.

"While painting, I freely assault the canvas with drawing, paint and washes of color, while always bringng myself back to the surface painting.  This exploration reveals to me the beauty of the patina that is created through time.  The end result suggests atmospheric imagery, gestural abstraction using light and depth to take the viewer into the painting."
