DONG WAVERKA

Born in Chengdu Province, China, Dong Waverka dedicated her life's passion for painting and art education. Dong received her Bachelor's degree at Chong Qing Fine Art College, followed by her mural art Master's degree at Xi Nan Jiao Tong University in 2005. She was personally mentored by a pronounced Chinese painter, Cheng Conglin, who is recognized by the National Art Museum of China. The record price for Cheng Conglin's work at Poly International Auction Co. is $4,601,620. Since moving to the United States in 2007, Dong fell in love with her new home in Naples, Florida. Her oil paintings reflect her passion for the gulf coast, marine life, and the Everglades. Dong's paintings celebrate vibrancy, life, and excitement, all of which capture Florida's physical beauty and unique quality. Dong's work has been exhibited nationally and internationally, including the Chengdu Fine Art Exhibition Hall and Chinese National Exhibition of Fine Arts. In 1994, Chengdu Manipal Fine Arts Association showed her work in the United States for the first time for galleries in Louisville, Kentucky, Ohio State, and Hamilton Arts Center. Before moving to the United States, Dong has fourteen years of teaching experience in art institutions and universities. In 2003 she became director of Art for the Sichuan Art Association; that same year, she started her teaching at Sichuan Visual Art College and Sichuan University till 2007.
