STUART GLAZER
Stuart
Glazer is a native of Detroit , MI and
currently resides in Boca Raton , FL.
He comes from a family of artists and musicians. His
grandfather was an accomplished artist who influenced Glazer throughout his
early childhood.
During
his adolescence Glazer took art instruction from regionally-known artists Ben
Glicker and Robert Dowd, and majored in art at a high school for the arts in Detroit
. Later, Glazer embraced music, following the path of his
parents who were both musicians.
Glazer’s
Bachelor and Master degrees in music were from Eastern
Michigan University
. He received his Ph.D. in Fine Arts from Texas
Tech University
. Glazer has had a successful career as a university music
professor, administrator, and a classical composer. He has numerous music
publications and recordings to his credit including a film documentary narrated
by Theodore Bikel.
When
he stepped down from an administrative position several years ago, he soon
found that he had more time to pursue his lifelong love for painting. He has
since been exhibited in galleries in Key West , Naples
, Dania Beach ,
Fort Lauderdale , and Boca Raton ,
FL , and in New Hope ,
PA.
The
artist’s painting style has been influenced by Modigliani, Picasso, and
Matisse. Glazer has also been influenced by his friend, the well known French
painter and sculptor, Jean-Claude Gaugy.
