GINGER FREDERICK
Ginger
Frederick is a working artist and a Gallery owner of Frederick Galleries in
Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Her background in art began in childhood. Her father is
an Art Dealer/Collector of 18th, 19th and 20th Century art and ran our Art
Gallery. Frederick studied at the Art Students League of New York with renowned
artist, David Leffel. The league presented her with the Joseph Hirsch Merit Scholarship
Award. She recently had a painting accepted at the Saitama Museum of Modern Art
in Tokyo, Japan. She is currently represented by Amsterdam Whitney Gallery in
New York City and the Sweet Art Gallery in Naples, Florida. She is a Colorist
and Impressionistic painter working in oils, acrylics and
pastels. Frederick's subject matter includes still lifes, landscapes and
portraits. Ginger is inspired by the way light hits an object as in the
technique, "Chiaroscuro" - light and shadow effects. Her technique is
painterly with soft edges using temperature of color, warm next to cool or cool
next to warm tone. She wants her artwork to be expressionistic, lively and
colorful, creating a sense of joy to others.
Fredericks
background includes a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Art from Northern Illinois
University, one year studying art in Florence, Italy and three years at the Art
Students League of New York. She has also exhibited at the Phyllis
Harriman Mason Gallery in New York. Frederick was accepted in the International
Biennale of Contemporary Art in Florence, Italy in 2011. Publications:
Southwest Art Magazine, Art of West Magazine, American Art Collector and
Affluent Page Luxury Index. Ginger is also an Opera Singer and currently sings
with the da Corneto Opera Company and the DuPage Opera Theatre both in Chicago,
Illinois.
